Verses #2, by Maningning Miclat

Walking by the river of tranquility
while the whole world seems to sleep.
I fear for the fruit that may drop on the water,
that will sound like my heart's breaking.

If I am alone, do not assume
that you need to search for me in the dark.
While there are tears, do not fall in love,
While I am dreaming, do not wake me up.

I am a conscious mind that waits for poetry,
and waits for your music to cross the shores.
Stepping on dewdrops of grass and flowers,
I am arriving at the calmness of an end.

I will watch the dragonflies' dance,
I will listen to the birds' chirps.
The nervous heart will finally rest,
when I lie down in a soundless evening.

Walking by the river of tranquility
while the whole world seems to sleep.
I fear for the fruit that may drop on the water,
and fear the sound of my heart breaking.
